Piece of the Week: Gold Digger Pendant

"I ain't sayin she a gold digger/but she ain't messin with no broke broke" well our head HAN CHOLO Brandon had that in mind when he created this pendant. Inspired by the life of one, our piece of the week is the Gold Digger Pendant that's offered in Sterling Silver as well as the Shadow Series Collection offered in yellow gold ONLY.

The GOLD DIGGER piece has also been featured in Nas' Theives Theme video. This is an everyday piece that can be worn with a fitted tee, jeans and combat boots as well as your bandeau mini dress paired with your platform pumps. Although the term "Gold Digger" derived from the American Gold Rush, historically the concept has not changed much from hoping to strike it rich, to finding someone to provide financial stability. So be careful of those Federline's and Kardashian's because they come in all forms of human.

Piece of the week: Chain heart necklace

With a brand that features skulls, science fiction characters, and army men, you wouldn't think that hearts would also be a prominent theme in Han Cholo. The chain heart necklace comes in silver, rose, and gold and appeals to styles ranging from the dainty to the daring. Particularly, the gold chain heart would be a fabulous addition to the outfits for the various holiday soirees you'll be attending this season, especially with black velvet or suede, as well as a simple jeans and a t-shirt. Satisfy your gilt-y pleasure and layer the chain heart with other chunky necklaces, and get one for those close to your heart this holiday!

Gold accents are big for this season from embroidery, beading, gold leather accessories, and of course, bold gold jewelry. Take some inspiration from fashion's Golden Girl, the self proclaimed "Lady Gaga of Fashion Week," and editor of Japanese Vogue, Anna Dello Russo, who proclaims that "gold is my new black." While head-to-toe gold may not be the norm for most, I'm sure Anna and the following editorials will make you wish it was.

Piece of the Week: Hawks of Isis

If you're on the hunt for your Fall statement piece, look no further. Exclusive to our sterling series is the Hawks of Isis pendant. And coming this holiday season, the baby hawk head is swooping into our Shadow Series in gold, silver, gunmetal, and rose gold.It was inspired by Brandon's interest in ancient Egyptian art and culture, including mythology and hieroglyphics. Hawks are sacred creatures and were meant to be the royal protectors of the ancient Egyptians. According to Egyptian mythology, the goddess Isis, turned into a hawk and flew above the body of her dead husband while she conceived Horus, their son who would later avenge his death. Also, Ra, the sun god, had been known to have the head of a hawk. While you may not really be a queen, goddess, or pharaoh, you can always still look like one...so you'll always want to take this bird of prey whenever you go out to play. Work the rest of your outfit around the hawk head and let your imagination take flight.

Piece of the week: Indian Chief Skull pendant (and ring)

We've got several other skull pieces in our jewelry arsenal, but the best things come in twos. So this week's piece of the week, the Indian Chief Skull, comes in a unisex necklace and guy's ring, as seen on RZA.

Our own chief, Brandon Schoolhouse, was inspired by American Indian culture and these pieces pay homage to his heritage. American Indians greatly valued creative and cultural expression, as seen through their art and jewelry, which is something fashion aficionados can definitely relate to. They also used jewelry as currency to trade between other tribes and people. Since both pieces are available in gold, silver, and gunmetal, you and your style tribe can trade off as often as you like.

Piece of the week: Rocket blast pendant

5, 4, 3, 2, 1....

This week, we're featuring the Rocket Blast pendant, which allows you to wear what was a favorite childhood toy for a lot of us. Similar to our recent pieces of the week, this pendant will be a new addition to the Han Cholo shadow series, meaning you don't need an astronomically large wallet to own one. So Houston, we have no problem.

This piece suits girl and guy space cadets alike and allows space enthusiasts to geek out, but still increase their gravitational pull.

There wasn't a particular inspiration for the rocket blast, so the possibilities are infinite. Not sure about you, but it automatically makes me think of this little gem from Sir Elton:

Or perhaps these 1990's Space-themed tearjerkers?

Pieces of the Week: Labyrinth ring + Love Trap necklace

Our 2 pieces of the week were once only available in our sterling series, but will be transferred to our Shadow series for our Fall collection and will be available in gold, silver, gunmetal, and rose gold!

The Labyrinth ring was inspired by one of the polyhedral dice in the role playing game, "Dungeons and Dragons." Fashion adventurers will love the size of this ring, whether they're battling monsters or out with their girls. It's definitely a standout piece and will be a fixture of everyone's fantasy.

Labyrinths are made to trap anyone who enter, and love is no different. That's why we are proud to introduce the Love Trap necklace for guys and girls, to bring out everyone's dangerous side. There isn't any significant inspiration behind the Love Trap, according to Han Cholo co-founder, Brandon Schoolhouse. He "just wanted to make a bear trap." Clearly, love is harder to escape than bears.

Piece of the Week: Love Thy Neighbor necklace

Wearing brass knuckles CAN be cute! With Han Cholo's various brass knuckle offerings, the Love Thy Neighbor necklace is probably more demure compared to its bad ass older sister, the brass knuckle pendant. From the chain of baby brass knuckles to its ability to be rocked as a ladylike headpiece, the Love Thy Neighbor is for both the nice girl who just wants that subtle edge and the nice girl with a dangerous side. Versatility is a fashionista's best friend, no?

This piece was originally only part of our Sterling series, but we love all our neighbors! That's why coming this Fall, it will be part of our Shadow series in gold, silver, rose gold, and gunmetal. So get one for yourself, and tell your friends, haters, and frenemies alike.

And since we Han Cholas keep each other lookin' good, check out the photo Donna snapped of Emily, who clearly as Emily says, "doesn't know how to model".....
