Karmaloop + Han Cholo go medieval

Here ye, here ye good sirs and fair maidens! The moment hath arrived! From the royal courts of Karmaloop and Han Cholo, we present the medieval sword ring! It's now available for purchase exclusively at Karmaloop, just in time for the holidays!

Get inspired with modern takes on medieval and royal fashion: chainmail, huge Elizabethan ruffles, and suits of armor. Subtle accents of these, along with the ring, make you look regal without looking like an extra on "The Tudors." Do get one for thyself and thy comrades, or off with your heads!

Piece of the week: Chain heart necklace

With a brand that features skulls, science fiction characters, and army men, you wouldn't think that hearts would also be a prominent theme in Han Cholo. The chain heart necklace comes in silver, rose, and gold and appeals to styles ranging from the dainty to the daring. Particularly, the gold chain heart would be a fabulous addition to the outfits for the various holiday soirees you'll be attending this season, especially with black velvet or suede, as well as a simple jeans and a t-shirt. Satisfy your gilt-y pleasure and layer the chain heart with other chunky necklaces, and get one for those close to your heart this holiday!

Gold accents are big for this season from embroidery, beading, gold leather accessories, and of course, bold gold jewelry. Take some inspiration from fashion's Golden Girl, the self proclaimed "Lady Gaga of Fashion Week," and editor of Japanese Vogue, Anna Dello Russo, who proclaims that "gold is my new black." While head-to-toe gold may not be the norm for most, I'm sure Anna and the following editorials will make you wish it was.

Black Tuesday!

The radio has already started playing Christmas music...a clear indicator that the holidays are quickly approaching. Get a head start on shopping for your loved ones (and yourself) at "Black Tuesday," the first installment of "Trunk it" at the Bay Salone on Tuesday, November 23rd from 7-11PM. There'll be plenty of Han Cholo goodies to stuff into stockings, and it's hosted by one of our very own Han Cholas, GGeisha. Shopper's sustenance will be provided in the form of cocktails and $2 tacos, so come out and support up and coming designers!

The Bay Salone is located at 2035 Bay St., Los Angeles

Piece of the Week: Hawks of Isis

If you're on the hunt for your Fall statement piece, look no further. Exclusive to our sterling series is the Hawks of Isis pendant. And coming this holiday season, the baby hawk head is swooping into our Shadow Series in gold, silver, gunmetal, and rose gold.It was inspired by Brandon's interest in ancient Egyptian art and culture, including mythology and hieroglyphics. Hawks are sacred creatures and were meant to be the royal protectors of the ancient Egyptians. According to Egyptian mythology, the goddess Isis, turned into a hawk and flew above the body of her dead husband while she conceived Horus, their son who would later avenge his death. Also, Ra, the sun god, had been known to have the head of a hawk. While you may not really be a queen, goddess, or pharaoh, you can always still look like you'll always want to take this bird of prey whenever you go out to play. Work the rest of your outfit around the hawk head and let your imagination take flight.

Check out Han Cholo's own Donna Lisa in the Circa Survive tour video wearing the Hawks of Isis:
