Piece of the Week: Woodsy ring

Owls are a symbol of wisdom, and there have been a number of omniscient owls in pop culture:

One was the constant companion of Winnie the Pooh, while one gave doe-eyed Bambi a crash course in love, and another told us how many licks it took to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop. Rather than imparting wise words of wisdom, this owl is simply associated with buffalo wings and orange booty shorts. Finally, Bubo, Perseus' magical, golden sidekick from "Clash of the Titans", even inspired one of our previous pieces of the week.

This week, we present the Woodsy ring, inspired by a PSA from the 70's and 80's featuring Woodsy, a chipper owl telling us to "Give a hoot- don't pollute!" None of us wants to pollute our wardrobe with junk, and since this piece comes in rhodium (as pictured below), sterling silver (on the model), and vermeil, featuring amethyst eyes, it's anything but junk. And we know what some of you may be thinking...an anti-pollution PSA inspiring a brand based in one of the country's most polluted cities? Despite that slight irony, rock this ring and you'll stick to this feathered friend's message: whether in the city or in the woods...you'll help keep America looking good.
