Piece of the Week: Hawks of Isis

And coming this holiday season, the baby hawk head is swooping into our Shadow Series in gold, silver, gunmetal, and rose gold.It was inspired by Brandon's interest in ancient Egyptian art and culture, including mythology and hieroglyphics. Hawks are sacred creatures and were meant to be the royal protectors of the ancient Egyptians. According to Egyptian mythology, the goddess Isis, turned into a hawk and flew above the body of her dead husband while she conceived Horus, their son who would later avenge his death. Also, Ra, the sun god, had been known to have the head of a hawk. While you may not really be a queen, goddess, or pharaoh, you can always still look like one...so you'll always want to take this bird of prey whenever you go out to play. Work the rest of your outfit around the hawk head and let your imagination take flight.
