Piece of the week I Part 2

"Is that a ring or a weapon?" is a question I'm frequently asked by people when my fingers are adorned with my spike rings. This week, I present a ring that was inspired by a weapon- the butterfly flip ring, which was inspired by our other piece of the week, the butterfly knife pendant. Our head honcho (or rather, HANcho), Brandon, wanted a ring that could be converted into both a stud and a spike. It's exclusive to our sterling collection, and can easily compliment other stud or spike detailing, as seen below.

Piece Of The Week | Part 1

A Balisong, otherwise known a butterfly knife or fan knife, is a folding pocket knife with two handles counter-rotating around the tang such that, when closed, the blade is concealed within grooves in the handles. It is sometimes called a Batangas knife. In the hands of a trained user, the knife blade can be brought to bear quickly using one hand. Manipulations, called "flipping" or "fanning", are performed for art or amusement.

The Balisong is commonly used by Filipino people as a pocket utility knife. It is so popular in the Philippines that an urban legend exists about every BatangueƱo carries it everywhere he or she goes. Hollowground balisongs were also used as straight razors before conventional razors were available in the Philippines.

Here are some photos from last nights event. Enjoy!

Karmaloop + Han Cholo go medieval

Here ye, here ye good sirs and fair maidens! The moment hath arrived! From the royal courts of Karmaloop and Han Cholo, we present the medieval sword ring! It's now available for purchase exclusively at Karmaloop, just in time for the holidays!

Get inspired with modern takes on medieval and royal fashion: chainmail, huge Elizabethan ruffles, and suits of armor. Subtle accents of these, along with the ring, make you look regal without looking like an extra on "The Tudors." Do get one for thyself and thy comrades, or off with your heads!
