Piece of the Week: Straight as an arrow bangle

Our latest piece of the week is the straight as an arrow bangle, which is adjustable so it can be worn as a cuff or bangle. It comes in antiqued gold (our most popular colour), silver, and gunmetal. Similar to another piece of the week, the indian chief skull, it pays homage to the American Indian heritage.

Halloween may be over, but you can still wear it if you want to look like Pocahontas. I know I will! Pair it with feathered headbands and fringe if you want to stick to the Native American theme, I've included some inspiration photos from Vogue Germany's March 2010 issue, Bambi Magazine, Young Hearts' Spring 2010 lookbook, Numero Magazine, and Glamour France's May 2010 issue. However, if you prefer the less literal approach, this bangle is versatile enough to be paired with anything. Stay tuned for more Native American-inspired pieces!

Han Cholo blows into the Windy City

Chicago is home to deep dish pizza, Lollapalooza, and Oprah. Now it's also home to Han Cholo! Sir and Madame is the first Chicago store to carry our pieces. The sir and madame behind this vintage-inspired shop are Brian and Autumn Merritt, the husband and wife team whose brand philosophy is "classic with a twist." This is shown by their diverse selection of brands, which includes their own signature line (their canvas weekender bag is my personal favourite).

You can scoop up our 3d ghost ship necklace (in rose gold), night stalker owl (in gold), His pyramid ring (in gold), and the straight as an arrow bangle (in gold) now!

Check out their blogshowing Han Cholo some love and stay on the lookout for an upcoming collab!

Han Cholo invades your space

This past Saturday, the weather may have been bad but the shopping was definitely good. After our sample sale at our headquarters, we headed over to Space 1520 for the DNA Pop up Shop along with Hellz Bellz and Lovemade. The highly anticipated Lovemade x Matahari bags were also for sale, which would also look great with another fabulous collab: the Lovemade x Han Cholo cold hearted earpiece!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by one or both sales!

Piece of the Week: Spiked Bat pendant

New to our shadow series is the spiked bat pendant, available in gold, silver, gunmetal, and rose gold. It was inspired by old school rumble weapons as well as the 1979 novel-turned-movie, "The Warriors" which has some of the best inspiration for Halloween costumes. It's about different feuding gangs in New York, and baseball bats were the weapon of choice by the face-painted members of the Baseball Furies. Rock the spiked bat pendant when you see the remake of the movie, set to release in 2011. This time it's taking place in Han Cholo's home turf, LA. While some remakes don't always meet expectations, this pendant does not disappoint. So now you can look kick ass without having to actually kick any. You can wear this anytime you and your warriors come out to play-ay!

But pleather vests are optional.

TO MARKET, TO MARKET TO BUY ME SOME BLING...

From October 15 to 19, LA Market Week yet again graces us with its presence, where brands, designs, and trends for the upcoming year are showcased.

We’re inviting buyers, bloggers, press, and the public alike to take a break from the hustle and bustle of downtown LA and take a peek inside Han Cholo headquarters, where you’ll have a chance to view all our upcoming collections and purchase your favorite pieces from our current. This marks our first LA Market at our in-house showroom, so come through for a sample sale on Saturday, October 16, from 11am-5pm. And like our previous sample sale, our Shadow Series is 50% off! And don't forget...the holidays are a-comin'! We’re located behind 3222 Glendale Blvd.

If paying a visit to our humble abode wasn’t a good enough Han Cholo fix, you can also head over to the pop up sale at Space 1520 from 7-10pm (yes, you read that right... that's 2 hours after the sale at our office).

And if you haven't seen it already, take a look at our Fall video lookbook here

Until then, here are photos of where all the Han Cholo magic happens (it used to be the old Beastie Boys recording studio)...Check-ch-check-check-check-ch-check it out below!

Piece of the week: Heart Lockdown pendant

This week's piece of the week is perfect for those who don't wear their heart on their sleeve.

Amongst our chainsaws, butterfly knives, and daggers, Han Cholo showcases a softer side and also has different pieces featuring hearts. The Heart Lockdown pendant, exclusive to our sterling collection, finds a happy medium between edgy and sweet. It was inspired by two other heart pieces, the Heart Chain pendant and the Cold as Ice pendant.

This piece, however, is two-toned and represents a strong heart protected in steel. This would definitely appeal to the tough-as-nails females out there, and this pendant will find a place even in the hardest and most guarded of hearts. Besides, jewelry is so much easier to love: they stick around for much longer and don't talk back.

Fall into the new season with Han Cholo and Moxsie!

Despite last week's heat wave, Southern California was hit with a cold front this week, so it's really starting to feel like Fall. We're pretty spoiled with our typically nice weather, so when we experience the least bit of cold, a lot of us retreat to our hoodies and sweats. However, just because the weather is drab doesn't mean your style should be. We show you that staying warm doesn't mean looking frumpy..or looking like a marshmallow (remember Randy from "A Christmas Story"?) Here's an inspired look featuring Han Cholo and Fall staples that can all be found at Moxsie. Hover over the pieces to see what they are and to purchase them online!

We particularly kept the collegiate shopper in mind. Since their budgets are smaller, versatility is key. Every piece featured can be mixed and matched with other items in your wardrobe. We've even included two shoe options- the oxfords work well for rainy weather and campuses that are full of hills and stairs. So save your pajamas and sweats for the dorm room and rock these pieces for an instant collegiate chic!
