Toy Art Gallery (TAG) Opened on Melrose!!!

On Sept. 16th, the Toy Art Gallery had a grand opening party for their NEW retail showroom off of Melrose. Han Cholo got invited to do a trunk show and it was a hit!

There was a crowd of people waiting in line to get in.

The pieces of art were crazy dope! The looks on peoples faces were in amazement and fascination. I mean.. look at it!!

Cake pops,goodies,wine,brew,dope beats and great people made it a killer turn out. We couldn't have asked for a better night :)

The night went so well that the guys at TAG asked us to come the following day for another trunk show for the artist signing. Nat got to catch some video footage of Emilio Garcia's (the artist who created the Jumping Brain) getting down with the paint!

Other participating artist were: Betso,Buff Monster,Motorbot,Naoto Hattori,Okedoki,64 Colors,Tokyo Plastic and many more.

This week, Han Cholo wanted to embrace the SCI-FI steez and get everyones creative minds working. For this piece, Brandon was inspired with the futuristic/robotic sense, which he believes that this will be how humans will look in the future.

This ring comes in Sterling silver and Vermeil from the FANTASY COLLECTION. They can come with either different colored stones or white stones by preference.

After a long day of hard work, the Han Cholas headed out to Drais(HOLLYWOOD) for the LA CANVAS and CHURCH BOUTIQUE present SKINGRAFTS MOONLIGHT SWIM last Thursday.

We got to appreciate some dope one of a kind pieces of art by SKINGRAFT..

We finally took it up to San Francisco for HAN CHOLO's third destination in our West Coast Trunk Show Tour with AZALEA SF (411 Hayes St SF...94102)!!! Many came out to support Han Cholo and to just enjoy San Francisco's beautiful SHOPPING weather. There was everything from dope live DJs spinning to the classy CHOLO midday wine bar!! The Cholo's set up pieces from the SHADOW SERIES waiting to be rocked by "The City's" Style socialites!

There was no doubt that Han Cholo brought our artillery from our CHOOSE YOUR WEAPONS COLLECTION for back up. Always make sure that we have y'all back!!!

It was a full day of work & fun for everyone at the shop. Friends, families, and customers came through the store all day to check out and purchase Han Cholo jewelry, in hopes of being the special winner of a free piece through our raffle.

This past Saturday... July 16th... we made it to our second destination for the HAN CHOLO WESTCOAST Trunk Show Tour...presented by Shake The Hand... which took place downtown San Diego with our friends over at 5&A DIME! People ranging from all ages came out to support the TRUNK SHOW (Shout Outs to all the Giants fans and Gay Pride for the extra foot traffic). The night was filled with dope SD vibes, a keg of Stone Pale Ale beer and great music by DJ Brandon, Waldo, and Ricardo Carlos.

After Han Cholo set up shop in 5&A Dime... we mingled mixed with old and made new San Diego friends!

If you haven't been inside 5&A Dime... they keeps it real classy!!

Following the Trunk Show... we headed down to El Dorado Cocktail Lounge to show SD how LA do at the AFTER PARTY!!

Han Cholo wants to introduce to you MADE IN EARTH CREATIONS GALLERY off of Abbot Kinney in Venice, California. We had the privilege of attending their GRAND OPENING this past Friday, July 1st, which Han Cholo was the only other jewelry line featured in the store besides their own private label collection, Made In Earth!

Some of Han Cholo's Precious Metals Collection that was displayed at the grand opening was the BABY BOBO OWL, ENCAGEMENT RING and THE STONEY INVADER PENDANT just to name a few.Made in Earth is a VERY unique jewelry collection, importing the highest quality in crystals and gemstones from places such as India, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and other places around the world.

Here are more of the beautiful MIE pieces inside of the store, which are created by the owner Bunny Bedi who has always been directly involved in designing the jewelry line.

After a FORTY FIVE min drive from LA and a few laughs for the ride.. we finally made it to MESA BAR (725 Baker St., Costa Mesa) for the INSIGHT "Untitled" RELEASE party with 80s PURPLE, Love+Made, and HAN CHOLO. It was on as soon as we FINALLY got inside the building... FASHIONABLE party people, drinks, and NETWORKING...

TRUE SF Boutique (1415 haight St, SF 94117) is an old school storefront located in the heart of the Haight, San Francisco, CA, featuring street brands such as Alife, Diamond Supply Co., and many more. TRUE not only sells clothing, but also music from upcoming and local dope artist usually played during business hours.

Obey Clothing has shown Han Cholo some love, while doing a post on the G-SON Studios here in Atwater. Not to mention.. the home of Han Cholo's Headquarters.

Some of the most talented and creative people have worked at the G-son Studios; Beastie Boys, X-Large Clothing, Mad Decent Records and a whole lot of others. Brandon Schoolhouse, the designer of Han Cholo Jewelry, used to work for the Beastie Boys and Grand Royal in the 90's, check out this video clip of Brandon taking a trip down memory lane and hitting us with a little history of the G-SON Studios!

MTV has taken a new approach on normalizing the act of getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases. By creating a PSA campaign, MTV came up with a lifestyle brand called GYT (Get Yourself Tested) where the goal is to have STD testing as a part of youth culture like music, fashion and social responsibility.
GYT partnered up with some amazing individuals who embody the Get Yourself Tested life style, and who understands the importance of social responsibility.

The directors Crobin, Howard Grandison, Patrick Cummings and producer Adam Palmer have teamed up with legendary documentarian /cinematographer Lance Bangs to produce several inspiring TV shots along with 11 biography pieces featuring some of the art, sports, fashion and taste-maker elite . Love+Made, Bobby Hundreds, Levi Maestro, Buff Monster, No Age, Talib Kweli, A-Trak, Stevie Williams, HAN CHOLO, and many more lent their time and talents for this worthy cause.

For this weeks PIECE OF THE WEEK we chose the NIGHT STALKER available as a TWO-FINGER RING and NECKLACE for both men and women. The NIGHT STALKER comes in SILVER, GUN METAL, and GOLD also STERLING SILVER and VERMEIL from our precious metals collection. Our head HAN CHOLO Brandon told us his inspiration behind the NIGHT STALKER came from his huge fascination with owls and Native American folklores. Maybe if you're lucky you can find the owl collaged in his body art of tattoos. And we wanna thank the Natives for this DOPE design.

From our head HAN CHOLOs inspiration stylist Kristen M Stuart took the piece and thought outside of the box with the NIGHT STALKER NECKLACE in a recent photoshoot for Hacid Magazine. And here at the HAN CHOLO Headquarters we want to salute Kristen for a job well DONE. This shoot is CHOLA approved. ENJOY!!!
